German for Business Professionals I-IV Sequence

The German for Business Professionals I-IV training program enables you to build a solid foundation in German via a four-course sequence parallel to your graduate study program or employment in the business community.

German for Business Professionals I-IV provides structured language training to build intercultural communication competencies in German business contexts. Emphasis is placed on the four skills, speaking, listening, reading, and writing, in conjunction with effective intercultural communication strategies.

The aim of the German for Business Professionals I-IV training sequence is to help you develop the linguistic tools and know-how that enable you to integrate more effectively into the Austrian academic and business community and start building the communicative competencies necessary to enter a professional career path in a German-speaking region or use German at your (future) workplace.

German for Business Professionals IV

This course module is the sequel to German for Business Professionals III and builds on the skills and functions acquired in the low intermediate level course. German for Business Professionals IV provides continued communication training at the A2 low intermediate level combined with intercultural communication strategies for business-related interactions.

Prerequisite

Completion of German for Business Professionals III or equivalent skills and experiences. For guidance, take this placement test: Studio [21] Einstufungstest A2 (cornelsen.de)

Course Content

  • Continuation of four-skill communication training at the A2 Level in German
  • Intercultural communication strategies for business-related interactions

Topics include job urban and rural communities and experiences, cultural capitals, job world, occupational biographies, professional goals, job ads, applications and resumes, traditions and celebrations, body language, inclusion and special needs, inventions and product development, a.o.

Grammatical concepts and aspects covered include present and past tenses of regular, irregular, and modal verbs; connected discourse; expressing causes, consequences, and conditions; polite requests; active and passive voice, a.o.

Course fee for graduate students (not including course material): € 50,-. Note: The reduced fee of just € 50,- applicable to current graduate students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Business study programs at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol is made possible due to a generous subsidy from the International Business School. Course fee for external: € 600,-.
