Applied Generative Artificial Intelligence

Curriculum

The program includes a basic module and three in-depth modules. A compulsory module and one elective module are required for the certificate.

Elective modules can also be added separately upon registering for the certificate degree. A maximum of 14 ECTS is available, including all specialization modules.

COMPULSORY MODULE 1: BASICS in GENERATIVE AI

(5 ECTS)

Course participants will be introduced to the world of generative models, which enable computers to generate data that looks similar to human creations. The focus is on teaching concepts, techniques, and tools to develop a fundamental understanding of this emerging technology.

Basics in Generative AI:

  • Overview of generative AI and its areas of application
  • Introduction to Large Language Models (LLM)
  • Introduction to machine learning and neural networks
  • Explanation of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Variational Autoencoders (VAEs)
  • How GANs work: Generator and discriminator
  • Application of generative AI models in image and text generation
  • Introduction to Prompt Engineering

Ethics and AI:

  • Ethical considerations in dealing with generative models
  • Fake news and its effects

OPTIONAL MODULES

(3 ECTS per module)

One elective module must be chosen to obtain the certificate.

ELECTIVE MODULE 1: GENERATIVE AI IN MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION

Course participants are introduced to the world of generative models and learn how these innovative technologies can be used to improve marketing strategies and communication approaches.

  • Generative AI in marketing
Exploring the wide range of possible applications, including the generation of personalized content, e.g., ads, product designs, etc.
  • Text generation and content creation
Exploring generative AI in copywriting, messaging, and content marketing to create targeted and engaging content
  • Image generation and design
Analyzing how generative AI can be used in image generation and design to create visually appealing materials for marketing campaigns
  • Creativity and innovation
Investigating how generative AI can promote creative innovation in marketing by generating new ideas, trends, and concepts

ELECTIVE MODULE 2: GENERATIVE PROGRAMMING

The course teaches the art of automated code generation and the use of templates to speed up software development. Course participants are introduced to the world of generative programming, where they learn techniques, tools, and best practices to efficiently manage recurring tasks.

  • Basics of generative programming
Understanding the concept of code generation and automation; using templates to generate code
  • Possible applications of generative AI in the software life cycle environment
    Modeling, implementation, testing
  • Tools for generative programming
Developing familiarity with LLM (Large Language Model)-based tool for code generation
  • Generative design patterns
Identifying recurring patterns in generative programming; developing and applying generative design patterns
  • Performance and quality assurance
Assessing the effects of generative programming on the performance and quality of the generated code; applying methods for evaluating and optimizing generated codes

ELECTIVE MODULE 3: GENERATIVE AI IN THE CORPORATE PROCESS

Course participants will learn how generative models can increase efficiency and innovation in companies, from information research to customer interaction.

  • Automation of business processes
Investigating how Generative AI can be used in the automation of routine tasks and processes in companies
  • Customer interaction and personalization
Applying generative AI to improve customer interaction and personalize offers and services
  • Forecasts and analytics:
Using generative AI to predict trends, customer behavior, and future market developments

EXAMination

The course concludes with a written final exam and an oral exam in the individual modules. The oral examination relates to an applied project and includes the presentation of the scientific content developed, which is carried out individually or in a group.
